OR and Endoscopy Room Upgrade Pembroke Jacksonville, FL

Davila Engineering led the design and execution of a $3.5M project to design a new state-of-the-art operating room, a new endoscopy processing room, and upgrades to the surgical suite at Memorial Hospital Jacksonville. Davila Engineering converted an existing sterile-storage room into a fully code-compliant operating room, expanding the OR suite without disrupting adjacent services. The space was 3D-scanned to locate structural and MEP/FP utilities, and a detailed BIM model was used for clash coordination and tolerance-driven layout so the new OR fit the existing envelope with no major downtime. The design incorporated prefabricated, integrated ceiling laminar flow & lighting systems interfacing seamlessly with Stryker ceiling-mounted equipment to streamline planning and shorten installation. We also expanded their SPD capabilities by upgrading scope-washer rooms to a dedicated endoscopy processing room with two pass-through re-processors, two-compartment sinks, and a new integrated RO, water softener, and pretreatment skid. As the prime, DE delivered turnkey project management and owner’s-rep services— leading consultants, subcontractors, and vendors; managing bidding, meetings, scheduling, AHJ/AHCA coordination, and budgeting—to compress timelines, control cost, and provide a seamless delivery.
