Davila Engineering (DE) was contracted to provide professional MEPFP engineering services for the $2M conversion of observation rooms into inpatient rooms and related renovations at Westside Hospital. The project includes transforming 9 observation rooms into 6 private patient rooms, adding a new nurse station, clean utility room, soiled room, staff lounge, and storage room, along with modifying the dialysis area. DE’s scope covers MEPFP design (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection), including the redesign of electrical systems, medical gas service outlets, HVAC modifications, and air distribution systems in compliance with ASHRAE 170 and FGI standards. The project will also involve code-compliant lighting, power, and fire protection system updates. DE will provide signed and sealed design documents for AHCA and local AHJ submission, and manage construction phase services, including responding to review comments, attending meetings, reviewing submittals, and conducting inspections. Final deliverables include as-built documents and professional representation at key inspections.
