Memorial Regional Hospital
Chiller Replacement,
Hollywood, FL
Davila Engineering is serving as prime MEPFP consultant on a $1.5M project to replace and upgrade Memorial Regional Hospital’s four-chiller, variable- primary plant through a carefully sequenced, one-chiller-at-a-time infrastructure upgrade that maintains uninterrupted cooling to clinical spaces. Building on our trending analysis to right-size capacity and staging as part of the initial phase of the upgrade, we are engineering the installation of a new 1,000T Trane centrifugal chiller, integrated with the existing variable-flow hydronics; scope includes chilled- and condenser- water re-piping, 150-psig marine water boxes, thermal-dispersion flow proving, and enhanced variable-flow management for stable ΔT at turndown. Controls are tied into the hospital BAS via BACnet MS/TP points for demand limiting, CW/CHW reset, trending, and M&V. We are delivering construction administration, bidding and budgeting leadership, outage/sequence-of-operations planning, and commissioning. The selected low-pressure, non-flammable R-514A refrigerant features an ultra-low GWP (~2) to reduce environmental impact and provide futureproof resilient CEP.
